Elementary School Graphic Novels
The Study Island Reading: Revisited & Reconsidered program actively engages students’ interest using graphic novels. Our aim is to help students revisit what reading means and reconsider what they think literature can be.
The program:

- Engages readers through vivid illustrations and texts
- Improves phonemic awareness, fluency, text comprehension and writing

Graphic Planet
Created by ABDO Books, the Graphic Planet series is designed to improve reading fluency for upper Elementary School students. The Graphic Planet series emphasizes history and nonfiction graphic novels. With strong historical themes, this program is perfect for cross-curriculum instruction. Topics include biographies of important leaders, events such as the American Revolution, and historical innovations.

Herman Heed
Herman Heed is an original series written in-house by Study Island. The graphic novels are written for lower-level Elementary School readers with an interest level for higher-level Elementary School audiences. The two volumes of Herman Heed are written entirely in rhyme.

The Timbertoes
For Elementary School students with a readability level of kindergarten to 1st grade, Study Island offers programs based on Highlights for Children's famous "Timbertoes®" feature. These programs introduce and connect students to tiered vocabulary.

Tin Can Floyd & Alice
Tin Can Floyd & Alice is an original graphic novel created by Study Island. The series has a kindergarten to 1st grade readability level with an interest level targeting early Elementary School students. The series includes questions which cover reading comprehension questions as well as basic math skills. Both volumes are available in English and Spanish.

Welcome to Ordinary
Study Island’s original, online graphic novel Welcome to Ordinary is a two-volume series. It is written for lower-level Elementary School readers with an interest level for higher-level Elementary School audiences. It is designed to help improve reader phonemic awareness, fluency, text comprehension, and writing skills.
